What We're Working On

ACES North America assists people and communities in the DR in many different ways.

Angosto Kids Club

Tucked away in the mountains outside of Jarabacoba, it isn’t easy to find this small village. The only way in is a four wheel drive vehicle – or the Dominican favorite, by motorcycle. Twists and turns up this mountain road take you past homes built precariously onto the side of the mountain. ACES is working with two local residents who have made it their life’s work to address the problems this community faces. Poverty, alcoholism, and sex trafficking have been ongoing issues they seek to remedy.

Barabacoa Project

In the northern region of the Dominican Republic is a small town called Barabocoa. For years an abandoned building has slowly been overgrown by the forest. The local community has requested our help in restoring this building to be used as a local community center. They have begun removing vegetation, and broken materials from the site in hopes that ACES can help.

Tropical Storm Laura Recovery

Tropical storm Laura has caused significant flooding and damage to Santo Domingo. As they work on cleanup, ACES is sending funds for food and building materials for repairs. Any contributions you make go directly to support this mission and is 100% tax deductible.

Urgent Needs Fund

ACES has ongoing commitments of monthly donations of items like schools supplies, student sponsorships and community workshops. In addition, we maintain a fund used to meet urgent needs as they arise. This includes meeting medical needs, providing education assistance, and other unplanned needs that arise. This is one of our most important funds because it allows us the flexibility to respond to needs as they arise quickly and effectively.

Who Is ACES North America?

Advancing Communities
Through Education and Service

ACES embraces a variety of techniques and opportunities for poverty alleviation in the Dominican Republic.

Schools

Many schools lack basic supplies like books, paper, computers, and software. Our relationships within the communities help us identify the best way to help.

Community Centers

Sustainability is only achieved when the community is able to work together toward a common goal. We help establish community centers through construction projects and working with community leaders.

Medical Outreach

We realize that before people can even think about educating themselves and starting businesses, they need to have their immediate health concerns met. We sponsor clinics and volunteer groups.

The Arts

Inspiring people through music, painting, and creating can happen in any number of ways. Providing reading materials, mentors, project supplies, workshops, sporting equipment, and most importantly, treating the people of the Dominican with the respect they deserve.

El Taller Dominican Republic

Our Mission

Advancing Communities by Educating and Serving (ACES) is a charitable organization dedicated to making the world a better place by supporting sustainable grassroots projects and programs in impoverished communities. We strive to empower individuals and communities for sustainable development.

Our Vision

Our vision is that people and communities who have limited resources will have the opportunities to improve their quality of life through efforts such as education, health initiatives, and entrepreneurial programs. We believe that this will positively impact neighboring communities, nations, and the world. We will strive for that vision with sensitivity to each culture and with a determined respect for human dignity.

How Can You Help?

Your donation will help us save and improve lives with education, medical care, and sustainable community projects.
